Motor Vehicle Accident Town of Throop North Central Cayuga County
For Immediate Release

Sheriff Rob Outhouse reports that Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives have completed their investigation in the personal injury Motor Vehicle accident from the Town of Throop (01-23-06).

In that incident a northbound semi-tractor trailer operated by: Charles E. Thorpe III 42 years of age of Seneca Street Waterloo, NY was passed by another northbound vehicle: a 1988 Chevrolet pickup truck occupied by two subjects: Matthew A. S. Weese 25 years of age of 46 ½ Pine Street, Port Byron, NY and David P. Seal 22 years of age of Savannah, NY. A collision occurred in the northbound traffic lane and the pickup truck left the east side of the roadway traveling down an embankment and overturning one and one-half times. The attempted pass was made in a no passing zone that was clearly marked with double solid lines.

 Detectives determined that the truck that was demolished in the incident was stolen from Kubis Auto Parts on North Division Street in the City of Auburn just minutes prior to the crash..

Reckless Driving
AUO 3rd Degree
Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle
Unsafe Passing
Driving Left of the Pavement Markings
Failure to wear a Seatbelt

Weese was arraigned before Town of Throop Justice: Mark Kubarek and returned to Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $1000Cash/$2000Bond with a return date of 02-14-06 at 7:00 PM. The passenger: David Seal was arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and issued an Appearance Ticket to appear in the Town of Throop Court 02-28-06.
