PERSONAL INJURY MVA T/O FLEMING

Sheriff Rob Outhouse reports that at 6:00 PM Friday his Deputies responded to numerous reports of a serious personal injury motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Skillet and Bluefield Roads southwest of Auburn in the town of Fleming. The post car and three cars that were ending their tour of duty including the Sheriff responded to assist.

Fleming volunteer Fire Department members as well as Rural Metro Ambulance worked at the scene to extricate the three victims and effect transport to area hospitals.

The investigation at this point discloses the following:

Peiter J. Clum (25) of 51 Barber Street Auburn drove to a residence in the area transporting Cash (27) and Casey (25) Holtby both of 45 Barber Street Auburn to pick up Holtby’s car. On the return trip to Auburn, Cash was driving the 1977 Corvette registered to Amy Holtby of the same address. Casey was the passenger. While northbound on Bluefield Road it appears that the Holtby’s Corvette stopped at the four-way-stop stop sign at the intersection of Skillet Road. The northbound Jeep Cherokee operated by Clum rear ended the Corvette pushing it in a northwesterly direction through the intersection turning the Corvette 180 degrees. The Jeep continued in a northwesterly direction beyond the Corvette. Emergency responders cut the doors off the severely damaged Corvette to extricate the Holtbys.

As of this morning all Holtbys are listed in stable condition. Mr. Clum was treated and released from Auburn Memorial Hospital. The investigation is continuing with further interviews and accident reconstruction.
