Boater Safety Course
For Immediate Release

Sheriff Rob Outhouse announces that a Boater Safety Course will be offered on Monday, August 15 and Tuesday, August 16, 2005. The 8-hour course will be held at the Cato American Legion, Legion St. in the Village of Cato, NY. The course hours will be from 6:00pm to 10:00 pm each evening. You must attend both evenings.

This course is required in NYS for:

  1. Anyone of any age who wishes to operate a Personal Water Craft ( Jet Ski, Wave Runner, etc.).
  2. Anyone between the ages of 10 and 18 who wish to operate any type of powered watercraft without immediate adult supervision.
  3. Anyone who wishes to learn more about boating safety at any age.

To register for the course, please contact Sergeant Ralph Gray at the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Training Office at 315-253-3935. A message can be left on his voicemail any time. Please include in your message: your name, telephone number and when you can be reached.
