ARMED ROBBERY
Sheriff Rob Outhouse reports that on Saturday July 23rd at 9:30 PM Deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at Nino’s Pizzeria in the Village of Port Byron. Employees reported that a female entered the pizza shop, displayed a knife and demanded money from the cashier. The female left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect was described as a white female in her twenties or thirties, about 5’10” tall, weighing about 250 pounds with long dark hair in a ponytail. She was wearing a green tank top and black shorts. She was last seen getting into a dark colored Dodge Stratus type vehicle, which traveled, northbound on Church Street.
On Thursday afternoon July 28, 2005 Detectives arrested Stacy A. Vantassell, age 30, of 134 Woodlawn Ave in Auburn for robbery. Detectives received tips that led them to Vantassell as well as her vehicle, a black 2003 Dodge Stratus. The tips that were received were a result of local media coverage.
The description of Vantassell and her vehicle obtained by the pizzeria’s employee was key in making this arrest possible.
