Illegal Drug Possession Arrest
For Immediate Release

Sheriff Rob Outhouse announces that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two persons for illegally possessing more than ten pounds of marihuana.

On Wednesday 09-14-05 at 4:15pm Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office responded to 3349 Ditmar Rd. in the Town of Cato to assist New York State Police Investigators from the Lafayette station with locating and interviewing suspects in an August 2005 home invasion robbery, which occurred in the Hamlet of Mandana in the Town of Skaneateles, Onondaga County. Upon arrival at the Ditmar Road residence Detectives discovered evidence of marihuana possession. A search warrant was obtained from the Town of Cato Court and executed yielding more than 13 pounds of marihuana and various items of marihuana paraphernalia.

Charged are:

Christopher J. Morency Jr. age 23 of 3349 Ditmar Rd. Weedsport, N.Y.

Justin L. Morency age 21 of 3349 Ditmar Rd. Weedsport, N.Y.

• Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the first degree (felony)

Two other subjects located at the residence were taken into custody by the New York State Police and charged in relation to the Mandana home invasion case. There is no indication at this time that the Morency brothers are involved in that home invasion case. The Morency brothers were arraigned in the Town of Brutus Court and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $5000.00 cash or $10,000.00 bond.
